ABOUT JP
I’m from Virginia, and even though I chose to leave the United States to travel full-time, I still carry a lot of pride in being American - along with a strong sense of critique.
I took my first solo trip at 19 to South Korea, and that opened a door I never really closed. 10+ years later, I'm still here. Since then, I’ve had a variety of experiences - working at 4 different government agencies, teaching English in 4 different countries, and attending 4 different Universities. I like it that way.
My life interests range from hiking tall mountains, learning new languages, to trying unfamiliar foods, staying in luxurious hotels, and finding ways to support Black people around the world.
Personality-wise, I’m optimistic, spontaneous, curious, impatient, and always looking for the next spark of excitement. I thrive on new experiences, sometimes to the point of overdoing it.
But at my best, all that energy goes toward meaningful goals, deep appreciation, and joy in the moment.
This blog is where my scattered interests, cultural curiosity, and love for interesting stories and good itineraries come together.
